whats with these bad culture ?

People dont like reading unless they are doing exams for it. They don mail or even read them they dont reply emails they don read newspapers never read instructions etc. what a vice? how do we fight this?

Kiash 		encouragement from childhood.Its rather funny that when people riot the only thing that is not broken to is the bookshop ama library.It shows how we kenyans hate reading.

strawberryice 		well it all is a cultural thing, i think when youre not taught to read whilst growing up then theres no way you will read as an adult until youre forced to or need to, because its a habit you pick up. i dont have a problem with reading cuz my parents made me read everything in sight whilst growing up, and as i started reading story books, i started reading newspapers and everything else, there should just be more awareness on the importance of reading, both in homes and in schools so that when they grow it wont be an alien culture

Njeeri 		Its sad. As tryinghard puts it, form a culture in the kids. instructions is where I find it annoying when a people dont follow and do their thing! have you seen people buy phones or any other elctronics then they dont bother reading the manual? ha! I think manuals should be scrapped unless someone asks for it.

tryinghard 		just to use a cliche statement Kenyans read alot - facebook. Anyway i personally think the education system in Kenya leads to that dituation. I'm from the old school & i read alot on any topic unless its politics and porn. TV has ofdourse become the most passive way entertainment. Let your younger siblings and children see you reading & they will follow suit - i hope

slyrags 		During the black man oppression in the states.(60's & 70's ) one white man (sorry if thats racist ) said ' if you want to hide something from a negro, put it in writing.' is there any truth in his observation? Back to your question.
